Sea Turtles Conservation 4 Days 3 Nights
What to expect.
Day 1
0900 pick up and drive (~2hrs) to Sematan for an early lunch, then a boat (~40min) to the Talang-Talang Islands in the Talang-Satang National Park. Join Sarawak Forestry's turtle volunteer programme with a ranger briefing and allocated duties. Dinner at the ranger station and nightly beach patrols monitoring turtle landings. Overnight at the ranger station.
Day 2
Turtle volunteer activities as directed by the rangers — beach patrols, monitoring nesting, tagging and measuring turtles, transferring eggs to the hatchery, releasing hatchlings and recording data. Overnight at the ranger station.
Day 3
A further full day of turtle conservation volunteer activities as directed by the rangers. Overnight at the ranger station.
Day 4
After breakfast, free time on the beach, then board a boat at 1100 to Sematan for lunch and return to Kuching, arriving late afternoon.
